Stress is a word we hear a lot of nowadays and for good reason. If you could magically step out of your body and look at this planet from outer space you may actually see just one big ball of stress. Whether it's work, relationships, societies, pandemics, social injustice, inequality, finances. illness, job loss, starting a new job, going to school or family, I mean the list is endless! We live in a world surrounded by and full of stress. On the one hand stress can be a good thing believe it or not. It can lead us to set and accomplish our goals. It can lead to growth. It can lead to realizations of what we want our lives to be. It can in fact be an indicator we may be struggling. On the other hand there is the more widely known "bad" stress. When you may find yourself feeling exhausted or worn out. When you find yourself fairly anxious throughout your day. When you find yourself lost and not knowing what to do with yourself, your life, or decisions. Perhaps you find yourself avoiding people or situations in general. You may find your health impacted, your body keeping the score and then announcing it as often as the sports ticker on the bottom of your screen. Do you find yourself wanting to give up, throwing in the towel or perhaps just stuck and not knowing what to do? I can help. In my experience I've come to learn having a place to vent can be helpful but having a therapist to help you work through your stressors can be vital. Stress slowly takes its’ toll on you and I want us to catch it before you're in too deep. I want to look at ways to turn it around. Life happens and it will always have stress in it but learning how to manage those stressors can be extremely important. Whether it is learning to cope more effectively, learning to take care of yourself as the priority, problem solving, getting a direction in life, a purpose or just plan making a decision, I can help. In therapy we can explore what it is that is stressing you, how you are coping, looking at your strengths and develop a plan together on ways to manage your life stress. Stress is a part of life but our life does not have to be stress. Let's work together and see what we can do to live the life you want to live and not the life of your stress. I look forward to seeing how I may be able to help.
